Here are 3 simple steps to restore fluffiness:
Use a hair dryer on low heat to blow the clumped areas, shaking the jacket gently while blowing to loosen the down.
After drying, tap the entire jacket firmly but gently with your hands or a hanger—this helps spread the down evenly.
If you have a dryer, toss in 2 clean tennis balls and dry on low temperature for 20 minutes; the balls will beat the down loose as they spin.
To prevent this next time:
Wash with mild/down-specific detergent.
Use cold or lukewarm water (≤30℃) and "gentle wash" mode if machine-washing.
Air-dry in a well-ventilated area (no direct sunlight) and tap periodically while drying.
